With sailing ship over the Atlantic ocean

On July 4, 1825, the sailing ship Restoration set sail from Stavanger with 52 passengers on board. The destination was New York and a new and better life in America. The dramatic journey would prove to be the start of a massive emigration from Norway over the years that followed. To mark the 200th anniversary of the emigration, Restoration is once again heading west towards New York. This time, film footage is being made on board to document the crossing and give us an insight into life on a small sailing ship on its way across the Atlantic. What it must have been like for the crew and passengers in 1825. This documentary film depicts the environment and experiences of the participants as they travel to America through sunshine, storms and rain.
