Jim Jarmusch's Father, Mother, Sister, Brother is an anthology film set in the United States, Ireland, and France. It explores family relationships through three loosely intertwined stories of parents and their adult children. The film depicts awkward encounters, quiet tensions, and the small, protective lies that keep family bonds alive. Whether it's estranged siblings, estranged daughters, or grieving twins, Jarmusch uses recurring dialogue, motifs, and rhythms to highlight the universal in the personal. Like his previous works such as Paterson, Coffee and Cigarettes, and Stranger than Paradise, Jarmusch displays a mature, thoughtful filmmaking style, where ironic distance is replaced by warmth and compassion.
