Diversity in the Norwegian Film Industry – Who Gets a Seat at the Table, and How Can We Include More People?
The Norwegian film industry does not reflect the full population. Many groups are underrepresented, both in front of and behind the camera, and face various barriers that make it difficult to enter the industry.
What do we miss out on when not all talents get the chance to contribute? And what happens when not everyone can see themselves represented on screen?
In connection with the Norwegian Film Festival in Stavanger, Filmkraft Rogaland, Balansekunst, and the Department of Media and Social Sciences at the University of Stavanger invite you to an open course on diversity in the film industry. The course explores how we can broaden recruitment to the field and lower the barriers to participation.

About the event
The course will take place in room EOJ-009, the cinema in the basement of Elise Ottesen-Jensen’s House at the University of Stavanger. The venue has an elevator, step-free access, and accessible toilets.
